What is the Luxembourg–GLF Finance for Nature Platform?
Until recently, the financial sector has been slow to recognize the threat that unsustainable land use poses to climate change, biodiversity, water use, rural poverty and inequality. The Luxembourg–GLF Finance for Nature Platform aims to shift financial flows towards sustainable land use models that are sustainable, equitable, inclusive and profitable. This will not only boost economic returns but also help drastically increase funding to combat climate change, biodiversity loss and land degradation.

Share knowledge on existing innovations and continuously build new solutions
Enhance the mainstreaming of sustainable finance for nature-based solutions
Catalyze private sector engagement in sustainable land use financing
Beneficiaries
In close coordination with the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (LSFI), the platform seeks to support organizations, including from Luxembourg, that could benefit from increased engagement in nature-based solutions to climate change, especially in the Global South.
We aim to ensure that our activities include and serves the perspectives and needs of communities in low-and middle-income countries, which represent the majority of the GLF’s digital audience.
