Working for a prosperous and sustainable Africa
Africa is now the world’s youngest continent, with young people being the majority in many of the region’s countries. Whether they live in the cities and towns of the rapidly urbanizing continent, or in rural villages and settlements; whether they come from middle-class backgrounds or from vulnerable families that are living in poverty, one thing is certain: these young people are ambitious to work for a prosperous and sustainable Africa.
However, unemployment is one of the main problems that young people face across the continent. On top of that, in the absence of adequate social safety nets, young people are compelled to take low-productivity and low-wage jobs for their very survival.
In this context, the Youth in Landscapes Initiative organized the GLF Africa Job Fair 2022 on September 14 (16:00-18:00 CEST; 17:00- 19:00 EAT), with the aim of providing students and young professionals in the YIL network and beyond with opportunities for networking with organizations and companies in sectors and fields that support people and nature across Africa.
