Charlee McLean is an environmental intern at Te Ipukarea Society, environmental activist and youth representative from the South Pacific. She grew up on a tiny island nestled in the Pacific Ocean and found herself drawn to the cultural teachings of her ancestral background; developing a natural desire to keep her precious islands’ ipukarea (heritage) alive.
She is deeply dedicated to the marine environment of the Cook Islands and intends to pursue a degree in marine biology.
Today Charlee stands with her nation as she strives for a more sustainable future for up and coming generations.
