Whether they are capturing fish or cultivating cassava, farmers and fishers across the globe face similar challenges. By adopting technology and applying creativity and a spirit of innovation, some successful projects have addressed these challenges. In this session at GLF Bonn 2020, we hear from fishers and farmers from South Sudan, Colombia and Indonesia who share their experiences tackling challenges including destructive pests, livestock trampling on crops, and unpredictable weather conditions. Panellists and participants discuss how innovation and behavioural change can be utilized to tackle these issues, strengthen resilience to climate change, and build fishers and farmers’ productivity, sustainability, and circularity.
Originally titled “Innovative solutions to modern agricultural challenges: In conversation with fishers and farmers “, this session hosted by the Grassroots Relief and Development Agency aired on June 5th, 2020 at the GLF Bonn Digital Conference.
