It is becoming increasingly clear that innovative financial opportunities and instruments that fund sustainable forest and land management and restoration are a key part of the sustainable landscape recipe, and particularly those that are aimed at smallholders and sustainable value chains.

In this Plenary, financial experts will discuss how to shift efforts and focus away from grants and donations from governments and philanthropic organizations, and in turn increase involvement from the private sector in profitable and productive ways.

This session will encourage and provide practical steps for leading companies, experts and institutions to create new approaches to landscape finance, and trigger the imagination of the audience for how those can be replicated and applied at a large, impacting scale.
