The focus of the talk is about the conservation and management of rural landscapes, with a specific focus on the FAO agricultural heritage systems sites. The talk will also address their role for achieving the sustainable development goals, the ongoing training projects for creating managers of these systems, particularly in developing countries. In addition, the talk will focus on the need to include them into the rural development model e.g. through specific planning tools
