Since 2008, RedParques has been leading a regional effort to strengthen protected area management, governance and biodiversity conservation in the Amazon. This session shares experiences and lessons learned from the Amazon Ecosystem Conservation Vision initiative, highlights the importance of technical cooperation and collaborative conservation in protected area management and explores the role of protected areas as hubs in which multiple stakeholders and sectors converge on a common interest: to preserve biodiversity for humanity.
